Job Summary

The research officer is expected to take part in the field work coordination, primary data analysis and contribution to the drafting of researches. Additionally, she/he shall be responsible for supervision of junior researchers and the project team activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature/policy reviews for a research project;
  • Ensure accurate and professional research tasks are delivered timely;
  • Provide and submit reports to the AISS main office
  • Conduct desk research and identify the relevant actors to be interviewed;
  • Develop and maintain research databases;
  • Provide timely information relevant to the projects;
  • Prepare research materials and publications;
  • Working closely with AISS provincial Coordinators;
  • Monitor, capture, filter and organize information and data into databases to ensure strategic and valuable information is available for project purpose
  • Analyse information and data, and produce briefing papers and reports to support project goals;
  • Be able to work under pressure and according to specific and sometimes tight deadlines;
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities

Qualification and requirements:

  • A master’s degree in law and Political Sciences, International Relations, Journalism or other related fields from a reputable institution;
  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience;
  • Robust research and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to formulate research plan;
  • Collect and analyse useful data and information;
  • Knowledge of research tools and methodology;
  • Reasonable academic background;
  • Experience in working within a team environment;
  • Strong familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, implementation and oversight
  • A self-starter who can work with limited supervision, proactive and has strong communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and writing skills;
  • Able to interact effectively with a range of researchers, community members and local government actors, NGO actors and development partners;
  • Commitment to capacity building of quantitative and qualitative researchers;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently. Can handle multiple tasks effectively and manage time to meet deadlines;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Excellent command of English essential, Knowledge of Dari/Persian, English and Pashtu will be an asset. In exceptional cases, the Pashtu language requirement can be waived

Job Summary
The Finance and Administration Officer is expected to drive best practices in financial management, human resources management and administrative management within the organization to maximize efficiency and growth. She/he will manage a team of 3 people and oversee financial management, investors’ relations, administration, human resources and compliance activities.

Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Provide complete report (monthly, one period “6th month” and yearly) activities of AISS.
  • Establish control for the prevention of waste, fraud, and mismanagement.
  • Processing all financial transaction and operation in Financial Accounting System including staff and vender payment voucher, receipt vouchers, journal vouchers.
  • Maintain up-to-date bookkeeping of daily expenses.
  • Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliations and prepare monthly expense reports.
  • Ensure data is entered and transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.
  • Ensure on time payment of all approved expenses and invoices.
  • Prepare monthly fund requests, ensuring they are accurate, and complete.
  • Manage and track petty cash account.
  • Maintain close coordination with all senior staff on financial matters and advise them, as appropriate, on matters requiring their attention. Support staff with budget management.
  • Ensure proper management of files, including all financial reports, fund requests and other finance documentation.
  • Maintain clear records of monthly cashbook and bankbook balance.
  • Ensure that all accounting is done as per the rules and have them ready for audit purposes
  • Assist in preparation of reports as required by the Ministry of the Economy.

 Administrative:

  • Managing the day-to-day administration of office operations & facilitate staff service management.
  • Manage overall administration of office.
  • Manage filing system (employment records, correspondence, meeting minutes, etc…
  • Oversee and ensure that office building and other rooms are kept clean and arranged in order.
  • Draft monthly attendance sheets, timesheets, and payroll.
  • Update monthly leave balance sheets of employees.
  • Procure office supplies and other items on monthly basis or when needed.
  • Carry out any other activities as assigned by General Director.

Qualification and requirements:

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration or other related fields.
  • Four to Six years’ experience in the field of office administration with knowledge of (Quick Books) accounting software.
  • This position requires self-initiative and the ability to work under pressure while being extremely detail-oriented.
  • Good at oral and written English and local languages.
  • Proven experience as a team player.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proven experience in logistic procedures.

Job Summary

The external relations officer is responsible to develop a strategic plan to advance the organization’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth.  In doing so, the external relations officer develop proposals and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenue for AISS. On a regular basis the external relations officer is responsible to liaison with the potential donor organizations at a senior level and ensure that secured and reported upon in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Summary :

The online website content manager will be responsible for developing the voice for all aspects of the organization’s online presence. Online Website content editor must have the ability to edit, publish online content in English that is clear, concise, vivid and conveys key messages to AISS target audiences on the Webs. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site content, the incumbent will also work closely with the technical team to maintain site standards with regard to new development. The online website content editor will also be responsible for crafting site promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns.

Responsibilities:
Edit and publish online content in English that is clear, concise, vivid, and conveys key messages to target audiences on the Web. Ensure that all content is timely, accurate and compelling;

• Manage, edit and obtain content for AISS website in both English and Farsi languages
• Be the focal point to determine how specific events should be covered and content upload on the AISS website in both languages.
• Collaborate with team members across organization to develop and implement strategies to make AISS website more dynamic
• Prepare and re-design articles and submit it to director editor for approval
• Analyze and recommend interesting topic to publish in line with organization’s content policy.
• Reviews AISS web content for grammatical spelling and typographic errors with accuracy and speed.
• Contribute to the publication of a wide series of multimedia products including photo galleries, videos and audio materials;
• Other activity assigned by AISS director

Job Requirements:
• University degree from faculty of law journalism, political science or related field
• Four to Six years’ experience in related field
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, including near-perfect grammar
• Strong and versatile editing and writing abilities
• Ability to think creatively and critically
• Ability to research and write for different online audiences and functions, including articles, in-depth guides.
• Working knowledge of photo editing software
